Representatives from Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China which has its own National Olympic Committee and competes independently at sporting events, claimed seven medals in Incheon, South Korea.

Silver medals went to wushu players Jia Rui, Li Yi and Huang Junhua while bronzes were won by Cheung Pui Si and Paula Carion in karate and Liu Qing and Wang Junnan in taekwondo. 

The silver medallists were each given MOP$120,000 (£9,900/$15,000/€13,000), while the bronze medallists received MOP$80,000 (£6,600/$10,000/€8,700).

The athletes' coaches were awarded 50 per cent of these figures, resulting in a total Government pay-out of MOP$1,020,000 (£84,300/$127,500/€110,300).

The 2nd Asian Athletes' Forum is scheduled to take place from Thursday (January 22) to Saturday (January 24) at the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) headquarters in Kuwait.

Carion, who was competing in her third Asian Games last year after making her first appearance at Doha 2006, will be in attendance at the event which is expected to attract around 130 participants.

The primary aim of the Forum is to update the OCA's 45 National Olympic Committees on recent developments and initiatives.

OCA President, Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, will deliver the Opening Ceremony address supported by Claudia Bokel, chair of the International Olympic Committees' Athletes' Commission, and Barbara Kendall, chair of the Association of National Olympic Committees' Athletes' Commission.
