Australian Olympic Committee are looking to hire a General Manager of Sport ©AOCThe Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) have announced that they are hiring for the position of a general manager of sport, based in Sydney.


They are seeking to hire and experienced sports and events management professional, with extensive project management experience preferably in the sports industry, including a sound understanding of high performance sport and the drive to work for the highly respected sporting organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the key aspects of planning and implementing of sending Australian Olympic teams to Summer, Winter and Youth Olympic Games.

Reporting directly to the AOC secretary general Fiona de Jong, the general manager will become the primary contact person for all National Federations and play a key liaison role with external stakeholders, including the Australian Institute of Sport, Australian Anti-Doping Authority and AOC Medical Commission.

Primary responsibilities for the role include managing the support services, operations, administration and medical aspects of Australian Olympic teams, with the selection of athletes and officials, accreditation, uniforms, accommodation allocations in the Olympic Village and other operational elements to ensure athletes enjoy a high performance environment in their Olympic campaign.
