Fiji is to host a women in sport leadership workshop in Labasa ©FASANOCFiji is preparing to stage a dedicated women in sports leadership and administration workshop next month.

Former South Pacific Games tennis athlete Hamidan Bibi will lead the event, which is being organised by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) Women in Sports Commission (WISC) and will take place at the Takia Hotel conference room in Labasa on July 12.

The workshop, the first to be held in the north of the country, is aimed at boosting the participation of women at various levels of leadership and administration in sports and will include talks on why women should be leaders, leadership qualities, how skills can be best used in different environments, and possible challenges and solutions.

There is also a sports event planned ahead of the workshop on July 11 to introduce women and girls to various disciplines.
