EYOF volunteers came together in Bendern, Liechtenstein ©EYOF2015European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) volunteers have been given a briefing at a gathering in Bendern, Liechtenstein.

Nearly 200 of the 232 volunteers from Liechtenstein,due to host the Festival's cross country and Alpine skiing competitions, accepted an invitation from Stefan Marxer, vice-president of the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee.

The volunteers for the cross country competitions split into groups and received detailed information about their future tasks, while the others received their official uniforms, consisting of a sweater, a ski parka jacket and trousers, gloves and head gear.

Around 1,200 volunteers will help throughout the EYOF from January 25 to 30 in Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein.

EYOF coordinator Robert Büchel-Thalmaier provided an overview of the forthcoming Festival and introduced the competition managers for cross country, Christof Frommelt, and Alpine skiing, Konrad Schädler and Rony Bargetze.

"They all have wide experience in organising sport competitions," said Büchel-Thalmaier.

"We can count on a competent and motivated team."

EYOF head of sports Ingo Türtscher, who was also on site with his team from Austria's Montafon Valley, gave information about the sport concept and the accreditations.

"I am impressed by the number and great motivation of the volunteers in Liechtenstein," he said.

The four-man band Vertigo, who will take to the stage after the medal ceremony on January 27, performed their newest songs at the volunteer evening.
