The three-day courses are aimed at existing board members or those in leadership roles at National Sport Federations in Albania, as well as members of clubs and associations of the Sportive federation.

The Olympic Committee of Albania is also inviting those who may not be part of sporting organisations to apply, such as PE teachers and people involved in administering sporting projects as part of public institutions.

However, priority will be given to the candidates who come from sports organisations.

The courses are set to take place from September 17 to 19 in Puka, while a second will be run from November 13 to 15 at a location yet to be finalised.

There are 20 places available on each course on a first-come-first-served basis.

Individuals who have participated on a similar course in the past are not eligible to apply.

The courses are licensed by the International Olympic Committee and following completion, participants have the option of taking the Advanced Course for Sport Management, which is expected to be launched in late November.

Various topics will be discussed over the three days including the philosophy and principles of the worldwide Olympic Movement as well as values, ethics, fair play and violence in sport.

The areas of management, governance, strategic planning, administration, finance, sports marketing, medicine in sport and development will also be covered.

Participants will be responsible for making their way to the location of each course while the Olympic Committee of Albania will cover the costs of accommodation and food.

The fee for the three-day course is LEK3,000 (£17/$29/€21.50) and the deadline for submission of an application to each is September 2 and October 30.

Applications can be withdrawn 10 days prior to the start of each course and payments will be returned, however, any withdrawals after this period will not be refunded.
