The two-day event, scheduled for June 4 and 5, is being organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and International Council of Arbitration for Sport.

It is expected to attract around 200 legal representatives from National Olympic Committees (NOCs) across Africa, Asia and Oceania, with 115 countries from the three continents to be represented.

It will be opened with welcome addresses from Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the OCA and ANOC, and John Coates, an International Olympic Committee vice-president and President of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The aim of the seminar - the main themes of which include disputes resolution in modern sport and important procedural issues - is to inform the officials about the CAS, while giving details on its operation, procedures and legal system.

It will also provide the NOCs with recommendations on good governance and information on how to establish an Arbitration Panel or Committee in order to resolve sport disputes within the country before going to CAS for appeal.

Sheikh Ahmad recently said that Kuwait's hosting of such Olympic meetings is a "source of national pride".
